THREE RIVERS – On April 10, approximately 200 families attended the second annual Easter-ific Egg Hunt by Lori Chiacchia, sponsored by the Palmer Lions Club at Pulaski Park. With two hunts – the first at 12 p.m. and the second at 1 p.m. – children were divided into two groups. One for children ages 1 to 4, and the other for children aged 5 to 10. Each child was hoping to find a golden egg.

Chiacchia is a Palmer Lions Club member and stay-at-home mom. She has been in Palmer for 10 years, and hosted the first Easter-ific Egg Hunt of Palmer last year with help from businesses in town.

“I just wanted do an event that was free and to get children out and have fun,” Chiacchia said. Of the egg hunts start, she said, “I have children and brought them to Easter egg hunts … I decided to put on my own Easter egg hunt event, so I created a [Facebook] page and started inviting people. I had golden eggs, prizes and the Easter Bunny was there. It was a hit last year with 140 kids attending.”

This year, 56 children found golden eggs and received special prizes. After the egg hunt, the children were able to take photos with the Easter Bunny who handed out toys and chocolate bunnies to them. Refreshments were provided as families gathered and interacted with each other.

“I just do what I can when I can,” Chiacchia said. “Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed themselves.”
