PALMER – Seven Railroads Brewing Company will soon bring quality, locally brewed beer to the Palmer community.

Owned by husband and wife Michael Bedrosian and Rachel Rosenbloom, Seven Railroads is set to open its doors this spring at 1235 Park St. Before the existing building was transformed into a brewery, it was utilized by a trucking company.

As the couple resides in Palmer, Rosenbloom said they were looking for a location that “checked all the boxes.”

“It’s a great location on Route 20,” which generates a lot of traffic, she noted.
She went on to say there is not another brewing company in the area quite like Seven Railroads.

“[We] have been homebrewing for over 10 years,” said Rosenbloom. The couple has taken part in several homebrew competitions throughout the area. She shared that they used to brew under the name “Knightly Brew” based on the name of the street they used to live on. Now, they have changed the name to Seven Railroads because the town is known as the “town of the seven railroads.”

Aside from homebrewing, Rosenbloom has been professionally brewing for five years at Fort Hill Brewery in Easthampton.

With years of experience in the industry, Rosenbloom and Bedrosian plan to operate the brewery all on their own. In the beginning, she said it will only be the two of them, but down the road, they may hire a bartender.

Seven Railroads Brewing plans to offer the New England IPAs that everyone loves along with a variety of options for avid beer drinkers. This includes English public ales and lagers, to name a few. Rosenbloom said they also plan to have special releases of aged beers such as stouts and more.

Although the brewery will not sell food, she noted that they do want to bring in local food trucks and in the future offer “bring your own food,” either to be brought in or delivered.

To attract a crowd, Rosenbloom said there may be some game and trivia nights planned. When the weather warms, she shared that they would like to host outdoor events – if possible – on the patio or on the space out back.

As the brewery will be “very community based,” she added that they are hoping to be dog friendly.

Before Seven Railroads can officially open, the building needs to undergo some renovations. “[We need to] get the brewery all set and finish the tap room,” said Rosenbloom. The overall changes to the existing structure have been minimal.
At the time of the interview, an opening date had not been determined, although Rosenbloom is hoping for the spring. Before the opening, she said there will be cans available for sale. Ahead of all that, information will be posted to the brewery’s social media pages.

While the hours of operation are not set in stone, Rosenbloom said they plan on being open Thursday and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday 12 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 12 to 6 p.m.
