College for Kids camps now open

WESTFIELD – Westfield State University’s College For Kids is accepting registrations for the 2021 program for sessions taking place from July 12 to Aug. 6.

The College for Kids program will offer in-person classes in the morning from 8:30 to noon. In-person courses will include art, magic, photography, and other courses. The number of in-person courses is limited this year. Fees range from $125 and $155 per course.

In addition, Westfield State will offer a virtual Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) classes throughout the summer. Class sessions will be on a weekly basis.

Some of the classes being offered in the STEAM program include computer programming and software courses. Students can learn JavaScript, animation softwares, 3D video game design in the Unity Engine, and a Code Breakers course.

Westfield State is partnering with Black Rock Productions for the STEAM courses. Those courses will be available for registration three days before the scheduled start of the course. They will be taught in morning and afternoon sessions and continue through Aug. 23.
