WESTFIELD – Delaney’s Market is now open.

The “take and bake” market at 587 East Main St. offers a varied menu with everything from single servings of salmon and potatoes to a family size tray of chicken Francaise. In addition to entrees, Delaney’s has ready-to-go lunches, including salads and sandwiches and more.

Don’t feel like cooking? Running kids to practice after work and don’t have time to cook but don’t want fast food? Delaney’s Market has something for you.

There are freshly baked popovers and cookie trays wrapped for gift-giving. There are sweet treats, soups and entrees. Delaney’s Market also offers a selection of wines and craft beers and its knowledgeable staff can offer suggestions for the perfect pairing.

Owned by Peter Rosskothen, the Westfield site is managed by city resident Heather Sullivan and joins the Delaney Family as the third Delaney’s Market. Other Markets are located in Longmeadow and Wilbraham.

Rosskothen welcomed a crowd on opening day Dec. 18 with samples of food and drink. He thanked everyone who attended and mentioned several people who helped bring Delaney’s Market to the city, including his wife Linda and daughter Melissa. He also extended thanks to Kim Jarret in the Business License Department, former Mayor Brian P. Sullivan, Acting Mayor Ralph J. Figy, City Councilors Cindy Harris, William Onyski and John Beltrandi and  former Advancement Officer Joe Mitchell.

“We’re very excited to be in Westfield,” Rosskothen said.

State Sen. and Mayor-elect Donald F. Humason Jr. offered a citation from the Senate and wished Rosskthen well.

“May you last a very long time and feed a lot of people,” said Humason.

Citations were offered from state Rep. John C. Velis and Figy.
Figy said “it takes a team” to bring business into the city and thanked City Hall staff for their work in helping Delaney’s Market open.

Greater Westfield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kate Phelon brought a ribbon and giant scissors for the ceremony and said she could not wait to connect Delaney’s with other businesses in Westfield.

“I’m very excited they’re here,” she said. “They will do well.”

Delaney’s Market is open Monday – Friday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12-5 p.m.
