WESTFIELD — One week remains in the 34 raffles for Christmas trees, wreaths and other decorations sponsored by Westfield on Weekends.

The entries for this year’s fourth annual Tree Jubilee are on display in the side lobby at Roots Athletic Center, outside the Pennysaver and Reminder Publishing office, at 181 Root Road, Westfield, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. They can also be seen anytime at westfieldonweekendstreejubilee2021.ourraffle.org. Raffle tickets are available on the website, at three for $5, 12 for $10, 25 for $20 or 65 for $50. After purchasing tickets, buyers can choose to enter each ticket in any individual item’s raffle. Tickets must be purchased and entered in a raffle by the end of the day on Dec. 8. Raffles for each item will be drawn separately, with the winner receiving the item itself as a prize, along with any associated gifts or coupons.

The trees and wreaths are all uniquely hand-decorated, often with a particular theme. Some sponsors decorated their trees themselves; others paid the entry fee for a tree or wreath decorated by Lisa Sunderland Burns, the Tree Jubilee’s founder and organizer. For some of the entries, the raffle prize includes not only the decorated tree, but also coupons, gift certificates or merchandise, in some cases hundreds of dollars’ worth.

This year’s Tree Jubilee entries include trees from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield; City Councilor Michael Burns and Lisa Sunderland Burns; the Daley family; Firtion-Adams Funeral Service; Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum; Bob Plasse and James Homan; Peoples Bank; Reminder Publishing; Roots Aquatic and Fitness Center; St. John’s Lutheran Church; the Sullivan family; Sypeck Law & Insurance; Westfield Creative Arts Center; Westfield Firefighters Local 1111; Westfield Gas & Electric; Westfield Kiwanis Club; and Westfield on Weekends.

Sponsors who entered wreaths are Joanne Bigelow of JoJo’s Rustic Remnants; Flowers by Webster; the Gezotis and Keenan families; City Councilor William Onyski and family; Joanne Papadimitriou of Keller Williams Realty; state Rep. Kelly Pease and family; Salon Palm; the Spa at Little River; the Sunderland family; the Westfield Fire Department Supervisors Association; Westfield Homeless Cat Project; and the Westfield Veterans Council.

Other decorations were entered by the Air National Guard 104th Fighter Wing; Two Rivers Burrito Co.; and Wagner Rug & Flooring.

Raffle winners will be announced Dec. 10. They must pick up their items from Roots between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Dec. 11, in time for the winning household to display the festive item for a couple weeks before Christmas.

Proceeds from raffle ticket sales benefit Westfield on Weekends, a nonprofit organization that promotes art and cultural events, and art classes, in downtown Westfield.
