WILBRAHAM – The arrival of the winter season brings cravings of a hot cup of coffee on these cold mornings. Common Grounds Cafe in Wilbraham located at 2341 Boston Rd. can fulfill any coffee lovers desire this winter as they transition into new ownership.

Deb Collins purchased Common Grounds on Nov. 1 from The Scully Family who are relocating to the South. Collins contacted the Scully’s in October after she heard through a friend that they were putting the Cafe up for sale.

“I came here and loved it and I started to absolutely love the idea of having my own business.” Collins remarked.

Collins lives in East Longmeadow and has an extensive background working in marketing for companies like Yankee Candle and Hasbro Toys. She received her undergraduate degree in industrial design and her master’s degree in marketing. Collins stated she is looking forward to applying her background knowledge and experiences with marketing to Common Grounds.

Moving forward with the business, Collins has no plans to make any large fundamental changes.

“I’m lucky enough to be coming into a business that already has so many loyal customers, I want to keep them all happy!” Collins commented. She added she’s excited to make additions to the menu and with her skills in marketing; create a new logo, a new sign and some design changes within the shop.

Common Grounds Café will continue to serve Saccuzzo coffee that is roasted in New Britain, CT. With the Holiday season around the corner, Common Grounds will be selling Christmas gift baskets, seasonal flavors will be offered daily and beans will be on sale. Collins said that customers can start looking out for changes at the shop between Christmas and The New Year.
