FalcettiFest brought the sounds of summer to Spec Pond

WILBRAHAM – Falcetti Music hosted their FalcettiFest Sounds of Summer Outdoor Concert in Wilbraham at Spec Pond Pavilion on Aug. 26. The event gave students both young and old the opportunity to show off their musical talent and skills.

More than 80 students took part in this years Falcetti Fest, with their ages ranging from six years old to 76 years old. All types of music genres were showcased at the event, including country, rock and more.

According to Sarah Lloyd of Falcetti’s, students played the guitar, the bass, drums, keyboard, ukulele’s, various percussion instruments and some sang.

At last years FalcettiFest about 200 family members and friends attended the event. This year, the event grew to an audience of 300.

Performers at the event included Natalie Falconer, Abaigeal Russell, Angela Falcetti and “Outta Time” band members Jacob Nichols, Nick Hunt and Cole Santucci.

Falconer has been taking guitar and ukulele lessons at Falcetti’s since 2011, and has been taking piano and voice lessons for the past year. She sang “Sleepwalker” by Adam Lambert and “White Flag” by Dido for the crowd.

Russell, who has recently released her mini–album, “People Problems,” sang “On My Own” from les Miserables and her original song “Out of Place.”

The band “Outta Time” has been together for five years. The group played three songs at FalcettiFest: “Lake of Fire” by Nirvana and “Black Dog” and “Moby Dick,” both by Led Zeppelin.

Falcetti has been playing accordion for the past six years. She sang and played “Tomorrow” from Annie and also played a piece called “Twistin’ the Jug” with a backing track from a Rhode Island–based band.
