HAMPDEN – Bethlehem Church will be offering a two-day Global Leadership Summit (GLS) for those who would like to gain leadership training, which can be helpful in both business and professional lives.

“The GLS is a two day, global, world-class leadership training event offering a blend of vision, inspiration and practical skills. The live event is held at the Willow Creek campus in South Barrington, Illinois, and broadcast to 600-plus satellite locations nationwide,” Bethlehem’s Connection and Outreach Director Lori Cooney explained.

The GLS is designed to drive transformation in leadership to maximize influence. Bethlehem Pastor Brian MacLeod shared that the GLS was looking to expand their reach into our region and contacted Bethlehem about their interest in becoming a host site.

“I had been to the GLS a few times but not for the last several years. With our new facility, I felt a certain responsibility to use it for the greater good of our region and said yes,” he explained. “Their philosophy is that leadership is influence and when a leader gets better everyone gets better.

“While the GLS is a Christian based organization, they bring in top leaders from every area to challenge the diverse group of attenders. We can all learn solid leadership principles from good leaders in every walk of life that we can then apply to our particular life’s pursuit.”

Anyone interested in the GLS is welcome to attend. Cooney stated that since the event can apply to almost anyone, students, to senior level leaders, to public and private businesses owners and employees, non-profit employees and those involved with the church could benefit.

“Organizations often send teams as there are opportunities between sessions to process the content shared, network with leaders from our community,” Cooney said.

The two-day summit will cover several topics including: leading with rational intelligence, maximizing your time and potential, creating a positive culture and identifying future opportunities. It will be taught by a myriad of business executives, best selling authors, pastors, philanthropists and entrepreneurs.

The GLS will take place on August 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and August 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Church.  The cost for the two-day training is $209, however a team of 10 or more people have a rate of $189. For more information, call the church at 566-5572.
