HAMPDEN – Hampden locals looking for a haircut or a shave now have a new option. Daniel Craig Schneider began accepting appointments at Daniel Craig’s Barbershop.

A master barber, Schneider has been working in the profession for the past eight years. Until recently, he was renting a chair at King of Cuts in Agawam. When business slowed down due to COVID-19, he said he decided the time was right to open his own shop. As a 15-year resident of Wilbraham, Schneider said that the Hampden location has cut his commute in half. He shared that he has been made to feel welcome in town by the surrounding businesses and customers.

“I enjoy the conversation and making people look great,” Schneider said about why he enjoys being a barber.

Schneider described his business as a “no-fuss barbershop.” Daniel Craig’s Barbershop offers haircuts, hot towel shaves and beard trims and line-ups. Cuts cost $17, a cut and shave is $35 and it’s $14 for a child or senior’s cut. There is also a discount for a 30 minute parent-child appointment.

He explained that business is good, despite the extra expenses of COVID-19 restrictions and the elimination of walk-in customers. When Schneider spoke to Reminder Publishing on Jan. 8, he said business was so good that he was booked through the weekend and he has already received referrals from customers who have told their friends about the new shop.

Daniel Craig’s Barbershop is located at 10 Allen St., across from the Hampden Mini-Mall Shopping Center. The shop can be reached at (413)262-9220 and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
