We are hometown news

Appreciates donation

July 24, 2019 |

I would like to comment on a situation I observed last week in the East Longmeadow library. A mother was ahead of me in line with three children. The oldest must have been eight or nine. They were all clutching handfuls of money. It turned out they had set up a lemonade stand and had raised the money to donate it to the library. I was very moved by this and complimented both the children and their mother. It was one of the nicest, most selfless gestures I have seen personally in a long time. The children and their mother are to be commended and praised for this act. They are a true American First Family. I do not know the names of the children or the mother, but I hope someone at the library does, and thanks them appropriately.
