DCF secrecy must end

Dec. 21, 2017 |

DCF [Department of Children and Families] has escaped scrutiny from the legislature and governors for years. The only people who care about it are the parents of “client” children, who are afraid to talk, and the DCF bureaucracy itself. It is being business entailing DCF workers, lawyers, consultants and foster parents. The state auitor struck the tip of the iceberg.

DCF is a secretive organization,”for the protection of the children.” I do not doubt the data in the audit was old. If you ask for current data you will not get it until it is old. It has system of “anonymous” phone calls. So, was it 50 people calling to complain, or a wing nut calling 50 times for revenge? There is no way to tell. It could have been DCF employee creating evidence for what ever he wanted to do anyway. Most of the evidence for seizing children is obtained from the children after they are seized. Nazi style tactics are used to glean evidence from the children against their parents.

Bump never addressed the issue of children being taken from the home unnecessarily. Then DCF focuses on unnecessary intervention, something serious is going unattended.

I have seen lists of problems on families which covered six pages. I thought, “it is going to take two years to solve all of these problems.” Then three months later DCF decides that the problems have been “solved” and the file is closed. Then in a couple of weeks the same family gets another case opened. So, one family can generate four or five cases a year.

The solution, of course, is to throw money at the problem. As I have said, the problem has been going on for years. I notice Bump did not find fault with DCF when a Democrat was governor. The secretive nature of the the DCF bureaucracy must end. Proceedings should be in open court where was can all see who brilliant our “experts” are.
