I love Christmas music

Dec. 23, 2019 |

Payton,

I read your Christmas Music article in last week's Pennysaver with great interest.  It was like you were writing about my childhood.  While I'm probably of your mom's generation, I still have fond childhood memories of Christmas gatherings at our house with family and friends.  In the background was playing our five or six standard Christmas records on rotation.

In current times, I provide music for our family Christmas parties.  While I have an extensive and diverse mix of both traditional and current tunes, it wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't include music  from the "old days," including albums by Wayne Newton, Sandler & Young, Boots Randolph and Earl Grant (you probably haven't heard of some of these).  And of course we must hear the Sleigh Ride medley by the Boston Pops and Little Drummer Boy by the Harry Simeone Corale.

As a big fan of Christmas music, you might enjoy A Robert Louis Christmas, an album that I produced several years ago.  If you give it a listen, you will note that I'm strongly influenced by Mannheim Steamroller and the Smooth Jazz genre. Cheers!

Robert Louis
