Upon viewing a piece of campaign literature from Marie Angelides, an immigration attorney running for state representative in the 2nd Hampden District, I noticed that it had numerous photographs of Angelides with others labeled "Supporters." Included in these photos were U.S. Senator Scott Brown and the Republican nominee for governor, Charlie Baker.
This was confusing in that I had also seen campaign literature from Jack Villamaino, an East Longmeadow selectman and Angelides' opponent in the primary election, stating that Villamaino was endorsed by Brown.
Two quick phone calls to their respective offices confirmed that Senator Brown did in fact endorse and is supporting Villamaino, and Baker's campaign stated that he is neutral in this primary contest, and that the photo of Baker was used by Angelides without their permission.
Attorney Angelides claims that she is not a "professional politician," however her use of photos out of context to mislead the voters of the district certainly seems to me like the act of a seasoned politician, one of questionable honesty and integrity.
