I wonder if anyone has thought about the meeting between Mr. Trump and Kim from a sort of historical perspective. While this meeting has generated a lot of media coverage and a certain amount of optimism on the part of some people it makes me wonder about some related items.

When people say that history repeats itself this meeting smacks of the Roman triumvirate being recreated via the connection between Kim, Putin and Trump. Here is Mr. Trump aligning himself with his two favorite dictators while having distanced himself and our country from true allies, such as Canada, Great Britain and Mexico as examples.

Here we have the alleged leader of this democracy embracing two men who have the blood of thousands of people on their hands and in Kim's case, the blood of his own relatives who were executed under his leadership, and yet, Mr. Trump sees no reason to have any concerns about such behavior as well as not having concerns with two pathological liars a characteristic that all three of them share. There is no doubt in my mind that the fake president wants to demonstrate that this country can function under a dictator who sees himself above the law and sees the opportunity to pardon himself no matter what the issues may be. One thing that all three of these men share is the determination to have absolute unquestionable power to do whatever strikes their fancy at any moment without regard for anyone but the person they see in the mirror every morning.
