Residents show apathy

The electoral process actually started in the beginning of March when nomination forms became available for those wishing to get their names on the ballot. Many people do not sign these forms and then complain that the same people are always on the ballot. They seem to think they are in the movie "The Ten Commandments" and the hand of Yahweh writes the candidates names on the ballot.

In most districts when the May deadline to have the required number of signatures expired the incumbent was running in a primary unopposed, and was thus safely on the road to reelection. Even fewer contribute to elections, of course the vested interests contribute by the tens of thousands.
