Support Head Gear Bill

July 19, 2018 |

My Soccer Head Gear Legislation is just the start in preventing concussions and head injuries in Massachusetts. Under the new concussion law, which was passed a few years ago also, I have the right to write legislation under the Massachusetts State Constitution to protect the rights of disabled people and write legislation to protect the rights of people with brain injury survivors who live in group homes in Massachusetts.

Just to let the public know traumatic brain injury, acquired brain injury and concussion is a hidden disability. My suggestion is to get to know people with brain injuries in Massachusetts.

Don’t let brain injury be taboo. It’s not right. A concussion is a mild brain injury, according to the Centers for Disease Control. If you want to know more about brain injury call the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts at  800-242-0030. Ask them if they have any concussion data in soccer and other sports in Massachusetts.         I request your support for my Soccer Head Gear bill House Bill No. 220 preventing concussion and head injury. My bill is under orders of the day in the House of Representatives for a final vote. Help prevent concussions among our athletes in Massachusetts. My legislation is just the start. Prevention is the only cure for a brain injury.
