At the Longmeadow Town Meeting at Longmeadow High School on May 14, please support the ban of j-brake (jake-brake) usage by large commercial trucks in and on the streets in residential neighborhoods in Longmeadow.

We pay high taxes to have a peaceful quality of life in our homes.

Residents of Converse, Laurel, Bliss, Williams and Maple Roads have suffered this noise pollution for far too long. Please vote to support this ban.

J-brake is the use of engine compression to slow speed by down-shifting rather than using the trucks brakes. This creates the noise and reverberations that disturb the peaceful quality of life we expect in our neighborhoods.
