We are hometown news

Thank you

Sept. 18, 2019 |

Kudos to our East Longmeadow neighbors, SWEAT Power Yoga, for their generous support of Springfield Education Association’s Tools 4 Teaching (T4T). Established in 2010, T4T accepts gently used classroom supplies from retiring teachers, organizes them, and offers them at no cost to new and current Springfield Public School educators. With support from SWEAT and other local businesses, as well as grant money from Massachusetts Teachers Association, T4T is able to provide much needed supplies for teachers who spend an average of $600 annually of their own money to enhance the learning environment for their students. By recycling still valuable educational resources, T4T also helps the environment by keeping them out of landfills.

It is refreshing and heartening to have in our town a business like SWEAT which gives back to the community in the form of their Community Class on Sundays. Proceeds from this class are donated to area non-profits – owners Krystal Say and Shannon Rolston are to be lauded for their commitment to community service.
