Thanksgiving seems to arrive and pass too quickly in the midst of other holiday hustle and bustle. Yet thankfulness is so imperative when generosity is abundant.
I would like to pause and give thanks for the many thoughtful individuals and local businesses who gave so generously to the East Longmeadow Scholarship Foundation’s fourth annual silent auction that took place in September.
As a result, we were able to raise more than $4,000 to help deserving East Longmeadow High School students with their college expenses.
This nonprofit organization has been awarding scholarships to high school students since 1961.
Having been a parent of four children who have received scholarships, I can tell you it is so encouraging to the families who see college tuition increasing yearly.
