WESTFIELD – The All Stars Dance Center will be celebrating the Halloween season with its fourth annual Trunk or Treat at the Westfield Funeral Home on Oct. 27.

Kim Starsiak, the owner of the dance center who coordinates the festivities with her friend Pam Burl of Westfield Funeral Home, said the event is completely free and open to the public.

Trunk or Treat is from 1 to 3 p.m. and features 15 to 20 cars open for trunk or treating. Starsiak explained that trick-or-treaters go from car to car collecting candy, much like they would to houses on Halloween.

Starsiak added that parents and businesses typically decorate their own cars for the event.

“It can be as creative or as fun as you want it to be,” she said.

Along with the Trunk or Treat, Starsiak said the event includes a DJ playing throughout the day, provided by Music and Sounds by R.I.P.  and a flash mob with a teaching portion for the kids, put on by the center’s hip-hop competitive team.

Starsiak said the event is a great day for the whole family. “It’s not just for little kids, like parents will be dancing and having a good time, it’s really really super fun,” she said.

Along with the kids, she said the parents also like to dress up and go all out for the event. She added that parents have a lot of fun decorating the trunks of the cars.

“The trunks get crazy! Last year someone dressed as Bob Ross, it was hilarious,” she said.

The event includes a raffle for three different bikes – one for boys, one for girls and one for older youth. She added that All Stars donates the bikes for the raffle.
